VAPolyFM presents a hybrid polyphonic synthesizer designed for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, effectively combining FM and subtractive synthesis. Its flexibility as both a standalone application and an AudioUnit Extension (AUv3) offers versatile usage scenarios. The standalone mode is enhanced with support for Ableton Link, MIDI functionality, and audio file export capabilities.

The FM synthesizer component comprises 6 operators and supports 32 algorithms, drawing inspiration from the classic FM synthesizers of the 1980s. Complementing this is a virtual analog subtractive synthesizer that includes two oscillators, resonant high-pass and low-pass filters, as well as dual ADSR envelopes per voice. Users will find an array of built-in effects such as delay, chorus, flanger, reverb, EQ, and compression. Additionally, VAPolyFM features a sequencer equipped with a piano roll editor and parameter automation functionality, facilitating intricate compositions. Projects can conveniently be saved to iCloud Drive, allowing access across multiple devices including iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
